Welcome to my website. I am Assistant Professor for Public Administration at the Faculty of Behavioral, Management and Social Sciences (BMS) at the University of Twente. Before joining BMS, I was postdoctoral research fellow at the work group Political System of Germany and scientific coordinator of the research training group “Social Embeddedness of Autonomous Cyber Physical Systems” (SEAS) at the University of Oldenburg/Germany.
I received my PhD from the University of Oldenburg, hold an MA in Social Sciences from the University of Oldenburg and a Diploma in Business Administration (Dual Degree Program) from the University of Applied Sciences Magdeburg-Stendal. Prior to my academic career, I worked as an auditing assistant and accountant.
My research employs a behavioral public administration perspective with an emphasis on attitudes and behavior of public servants. I am particularly interested in how implementing digital technologies, algorithmic decision making systems, and artificial intelligence alters public service provision. Moreover, my work covers topics such as risk aversion, prosociality, impartiality, and dishonesty among public servants. I specialized in using methods of causal inference.
